Cooking Steps
- Begin by boiling water in a large pot over high heat. Once boiling, add your preferred noodles and cook according to package instructions, usually around 8-10 minutes. Drain the noodles in a colander, rinsing them gently under cold water to stop the cooking process, then set aside while you prepare the rest of the dish.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, rice vinegar, and optional browning sauce until well combined.
- In a small bowl, combine cornstarch and a few tablespoons of water until smooth. Mix this slurry with your prepared sauce, ensuring it’s evenly distributed.
- Slice the flank steak or sirloin thinly against the grain. Marinate the beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, rice vinegar, and ginger in a large bowl for about 10 minutes.
- Heat a wok or large skillet over high heat, adding sesame oil once hot. Add the marinated beef and sear for about 3-5 minutes, stirring gently until cooked through. Remove from the wok and set aside.
- In the same wok, add more sesame oil if needed, then sauté onions, garlic, and ginger for 2-3 minutes until aromatic and translucent.
- Add fresh broccoli florets to the wok and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp. Next, add the cooked noodles, gently mixing everything together.
- Gradually pour the prepared sauce over the noodle and vegetable mixture, stirring continuously to ensure even coverage. Allow the sauce to bubble for about 2 minutes to thicken, then return the seared beef to the wok, warming it through.
- Transfer your Beef and Broccoli Lo Mein Noodles to serving plates. Garnish with sesame seeds or sliced green onions and serve hot.
