  6. Layer half of the potatoes in the baking dish, pour half of the cheese sauce over them, cover with foil, and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. After 30 minutes, remove foil, pour remaining cheese sauce over, and bake uncovered for an additional 30-60 minutes until top is golden brown.
  8. Let rest for 10 minutes, then sprinkle with fresh herbs before serving.
