Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 175ºC (350ºF). Line a 23x33 cm (8"x12") baking pan with parchment paper.
- Sift together all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, espresso powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
- Whisk together buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Gradually stir in boiling water until smooth.
- Pour the wet mixture into dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined with no lumps.

- Whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold into the mascarpone mixture.
- Spread the mascarpone frosting generously over the cooled cake and dust lightly with cocoa powder before serving.
