Ingredients
  

For the Pasta
  • 8 oz Fusilli Pasta Substitution: Penne or rotini
For the Protein
  • 1 lb Large Shrimp Substitute with chicken breast
  • 8 oz Andouille Sausage Substitute with regular smoked sausage
For the Vegetables
  • 1 cup Red Bell Pepper Substitute: Yellow or orange bell peppers
  • 1 cup Green Bell Pepper Optional
  • 1 medium Onion Yellow or sweet onion works best
  • 3 cloves Garlic Fresh is ideal, but dried can be used
For the Sauce
  • 1 cup Alfredo Sauce Jarred or homemade
  • 0.5 cup Pasta Water Reserved before draining pasta
For the Seasoning
  • 1 tbsp Cajun Seasoning Recommended brand: Tony Chachere’s
  • 1 tsp Smoked Paprika Regular paprika may be used
For the Finish
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan Cheese Substitute with Pecorino Romano
  • 2 tbsp Minced Parsley Optional for garnish

Method
 

Directions
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add fusilli pasta and cook for 8–10 minutes until al dente, then reserve ½ cup of pasta water and drain the rest.
  2. In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add large shrimp and sauté for 1–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque, then set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add sliced andouille sausage and cook for 3–4 minutes until browned.
  4. Add chopped red bell pepper, green bell pepper, and onion to the skillet, cooking for around 5 minutes. Stir frequently. Add minced garlic and sauté until golden.
  5. Pour in Alfredo sauce and reserved pasta water into the skillet, mixing well. Add Cajun seasoning and smoked paprika, stirring continuously for 3–4 minutes.
  6. Return sautéed shrimp and drained fusilli pasta to the skillet, tossing gently to combine. Adjust thickness with reserved pasta water as needed.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with minced parsley and grated Parmesan cheese.
