Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prep Ingredients: Begin by preparing your ingredients. If making air-fried tortilla chips, slice corn tortillas and air-fry them at 375°F for about 10 minutes. Shred the Oaxaca cheese, drain and rinse the black beans, and slice fresh jalapeños.
  2. Layer Nachos: In a lined cast iron skillet, layer tortilla chips to cover the bottom. Sprinkle half of the shredded Oaxaca cheese over the chips, followed by a layer of black beans.
  3. Broil: Preheat your oven’s broiler to low and place the skillet inside. Broil for about 5 to 10 minutes, watching closely until the cheese melts and bubbles.
  4. Top and Serve: After broiling, add the shredded birria meat, sliced jalapeños, dollops of sour cream, and fresh cilantro.
