Ingredients
  

For the Tea
  • 4 cups filtered water
  • 2 bags green tea
  • 1 apple Fuji or Honeycrisp thinly sliced
For Sweetening
  • to taste honey or agave syrup
For Serving
  • as needed ice cubes
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger grated (optional)
  • as needed mint or basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Heat 4 cups of filtered water in a kettle until just about to boil. Add the green tea bags and thinly sliced apple. Steep for 2-3 minutes, then remove the tea bags.
  2. While the tea is warm, stir in honey to taste until completely dissolved. Let the apple infuse the tea as it cools.
  3. Once cooled to room temperature, transfer the tea to the refrigerator and chill for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled apple-infused green tea over the ice, filling nearly to the top.
  5. Garnish each glass with a fresh apple slice and a sprig of mint or basil and serve immediately.
