Cooking Steps
- Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add 1 pound of ground beef and cook for 8-10 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in 1 teaspoon of onion powder, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, and season with salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly for about 2 minutes.
- Combine the beef mixture with 3 cups of cooked white rice, 1 can of condensed French onion soup, and 1 cup of sour cream in a large mixing bowl. Stir until well mixed.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Spread the beef and rice mixture into the baking dish and sprinkle 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
- Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
