Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and set a timer for 5 minutes.
  2. Spread ½ cup of melted unsalted butter evenly across the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together 1 cup of whole milk, 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract, and 1 cup of granulated sugar until well combined.
  4. Gradually add 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, ¼ teaspoon of salt, and 2 teaspoons of cinnamon to the liquid mixture, and mix gently.
  5. Spoon the batter over the melted butter in the baking pan without stirring.
  6. Evenly sprinkle 1 cup of packed brown sugar on top of the batter.
  7. Pour 1 ½ cups of hot water gently over the entire mixture without stirring.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 30–35 minutes until the top is golden brown.
  9. Mix together 2 tablespoons of sugar with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and sprinkle over the hot cobbler.
