Ingredients
  

For the Patties
  • 1 pound Ground Chicken or ground turkey
  • 2 cloves Minced Garlic fresh
  • 1/2 cup Grated Onion use yellow onion
  • 1/4 cup Chopped Fresh Parsley or dried parsley
  • 1/4 cup Chopped Fresh Mint or basil
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
  • 1/2 cup Crumbled Feta Cheese or goat cheese
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs gluten-free options available
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil for cooking
For the Tzatziki
  • 1 cup Greek Yogurt or sour cream
  • 1/2 cup Grated Cucumber drained
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice fresh
  • 1 tablespoon Chopped Fresh Dill or dried dill
To Assemble
  • 4 pieces Burger Buns whole wheat or gluten-free
  • 4 leaves Lettuce Leaves romaine or iceberg
  • 1 medium Tomato sliced

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, minced garlic, grated onion, parsley, mint, oregano, feta, breadcrumbs, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently for about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Divide into four equal portions and shape each into a patty about ¾ inch thick, making an indentation in the center.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat for about 2 minutes until shimmering.
  4. Cook patties for 5-6 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F.
  5. In a small bowl, mix Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, lemon juice, chopped dill, and a pinch of salt and pepper until smooth to create the tzatziki sauce.
  6. Toast the burger buns cut-side down in the same skillet for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Spread tzatziki sauce on the bottom half of each bun, add a lettuce leaf, a chicken patty, and fresh tomato slices.

Notes
