Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, your choice of shredded cheese, chopped fresh herbs, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
  3. On a lightly floured surface, roll out thawed puff pastry to about 1/8 inch thickness. Cut into 3-inch squares.
  4. Place about one tablespoon of the cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square. Fold corners towards the center to create a triangle shape and press edges to seal.
  5. Arrange filled pastries on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush the tops with egg wash.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
  7. Cool for a few minutes before serving warm with marinara or pesto.
