  • 1/4 cup Coconut Oil Adds richness; can use melted butter or neutral oil

  • 1/4 tsp Sea Salt Enhances sweetness; regular table salt can be used

Equipment

  • food processor
  • Mixing bowl
  • baking dish

Method

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8x8 inch baking dish by greasing it or lining with parchment paper.
  2. In a food processor, blend the medjool dates until they form a smooth paste, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine almond flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and sea salt; whisk until blended.
  4. Add the blended date paste and melted coconut oil to the dry ingredients; fold until well combined.
  5. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, smoothing the top evenly.
  6. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes; the edges should pull away and a toothpick should come out with moist crumbs.
  7. Allow the brownies to cool for about 15-20 minutes before slicing into squares.

Notes

For the best flavor, use fresh medjool dates. Don't overmix for a fudgier texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
