For the Beans
  • 1 can Black Beans Or white beans
For the Vegetables
  • 1 medium Onion Yellow or sweet onions
  • 1 medium Bell Pepper Any color
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced
For the Broth
  • 4 cups Seafood Broth Or vegetable broth; chicken broth can be used

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Chop onions, bell peppers, and garlic finely. Cut seafood into bite-sized pieces.
Cooking
  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Sauté onions and bell peppers until soft, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add minced garlic, cook for 1 minute.
  3. Add selected seafood, stirring gently until shrimp is opaque and scallops are slightly browned, about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Reduce heat to low, add cream cheese, stirring until melted and mixed.
  5. Mix in beans and spices, then gradually pour in broth to achieve desired thickness.
  6. Bring to simmer over low heat and cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Adjust seasoning to taste and serve hot.
