Step-by-Step Instructions for Slow Cooker Brisket
  1. Prepare the seasoning by mixing kosher salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and chili powder in a small bowl. Generously rub this mixture all over the brisket.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the brisket for about 4-5 minutes on each side until a dark crust forms.
  3. In the slow cooker, add sliced onions and minced garlic to the bottom for flavor infusion.
  4. Transfer the seared brisket to the slow cooker, placing it on top of the onions and garlic.
  5. Whisk together beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, and apple cider vinegar in a separate bowl, then pour it over the brisket.
  6. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-5 hours until tender.
  7. Remove the brisket from the cooker, tent with foil, slice against the grain, and serve with the sauce.
