Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, ground cinnamon, allspice, and nutmeg until well blended.
- In a separate bowl, combine granulated sugar, vegetable oil, and large eggs. Whisk thoroughly until smooth.
- Mix in the apple butter and buttermilk, blending until creamy and free of lumps.
- Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet mixture, whisking gently just until combined.
- Lightly coat a 9x5x2.75-inch loaf pan with non-stick spray and pour in the batter.
- Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for about 50-60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the loaf to cool in the pan for 5-10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- In a mixing bowl, beat softened butter with icing sugar until combined, then add cold cream cheese and a few tablespoons of apple butter; mix until creamy.
- Spread the cream cheese frosting over the fully cooled loaf and swirl additional apple butter on top for garnish.
- If not serving immediately, refrigerate the frosted loaf briefly to set the frosting.
