Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 1/3 cup + 1 tbsp of unsalted butter, 2 tbsp of sugar, and 1 tsp of salt. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to low and slowly add 1 cup of plain flour, stirring until a dough forms.
- Remove the dough from heat and allow it to cool for about 4-5 minutes. Once cooled, add 1 large egg and 1 tsp of vanilla essence, stirring until smooth.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray the basket with nonstick cooking spray.
- Transfer the churro dough into a piping bag and pipe small churros into the basket, leaving space between each piece.
- Brush the churros lightly with melted butter and cook in the air fryer for 10-12 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- Mix 1 cup of white sugar with 1 tbsp of cinnamon powder in a shallow bowl while churros are cooking.
- Once cooked, remove churro bites and toss them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until fully coated.
- Serve warm and enjoy with dipping sauces like chocolate syrup or honey.

Notes
For gluten-free churros, substitute regular flour with a gluten-free blend. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. Reheat in the air fryer for best results.
