Baking Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare three 9-inch round cake pans by greasing and dusting with flour.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the eggs, whole milk, vegetable oil, and pure vanilla extract; beat on medium speed for about 2 minutes.
- Gradually add boiling water to the batter, mixing on low speed until combined.
- Gently fold almond flour into the batter, being careful not to over-mix.
- Evenly divide the batter among the three prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes.
- Remove cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for about 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
- In a saucepan, heat semi-sweet chocolate and heavy cream until melted; allow ganache to cool slightly.
- Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
- Assemble the cake by layering with ganache and whipped cream between each layer.
- Pour remaining ganache over the top and decorate with sliced almonds.
